Granada is the province of Andalusia, and has widest range of options for the tourist and easily accessible thanks to its airport and rail station, it has beautiful coastline on the south, the Sierra Nevada, highest mountain range of Spain with the possibility of skiing in winter, some marvellous natural reserves for rural tourism, and of course precious Granada city, former Moorish capital and home of The Alhambra.
Walk peacefully through the streets of Granada, while taking in the fascination of the winding paths and the impressive monuments that give an idea of its definitive history. It is a city that people fall in love with even before they get to know it, and once they do they will never forget it.
The Alhambra is the most famous monument in the city and one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It rises up from behind a lavish hill among numerous forests and springs. It is one of Spain’s most visited monuments.
The sierra mountain range is part of the beautiful heritage of Nevada, and is covered with snow all year round. It can be reached in less than an hour by hire car along the twisty road, the highest in Spain.
The peaks of Sierra Nevada are over 3,000 metres high, they end at the Mulhacen that has an altitude of 3,481 metres.
More than 320 sunny days each year and an average temperature of 20º Celsius make Granada’s Tropical Coast a delightful commune. Delicate winds from North Africa, the warm waters of the Mediterranean and the refuge provided by the nearby peaks of the Sierra Nevada give it Europe’s only subtropical microclimate.
The region’s five natural parks and the Sierra Nevada National Park all make Granada a paradise for those who are looking for relaxation, tranquillity and contact with nature on their holidays.
